Building this list for you was so incredibly fun (and mouth-watering) …. Banff has so much great food! And when you stay at Brewster’s Mountain Lodge, it’s all within five minutes walking distance from your home base. So have that extra cocktail, eat that extra plate of fries, get dessert… calories don’t count when you’re on vacation (and I’m sure you’ll work it off tomorrow doing something fun and adventurous anyway). Enjoy!

Sushi Bistro – $

Located within the hotel, Sushi Bistro is great if you are a sushi lover and want a quick bite to eat. Eat in their casual atmosphere or grab it to go and eat in your room.

Touloulous – $$

Tooloulou’s is on Caribou Street and is two doors down from the hotel. They were introduced to the downtown Banff dining scene in October 2012. Locally owned and operated as a casual and intimate fifty seat restaurant, Tooloulou’s offers a Cajun Creole inspired flair alongside a touch of Canadian Rocky Mountain infusion.

Coyotes – $$

Our next door neighbour on Caribou Street. Coyotes serves Southwestern/Mediterranean cuisine with a slight cross cultural food fusion. Each chefs’ individual talents are used to create new, eclectic, fresh food with a touch of class.

Block Kitchen and Bar – $$

Another neighbour of ours on Caribou Street, Block Kitchen + Bar is a trendy tapas bar that offers a fresh urban setting with birdcages and bare bulb lighting hanging from the ceiling, as well as wine bottles anchored to the wall and copper trimmings lined throughout.

Park Distillery – $$$

About a five minute walk from the hotel on Banff Ave. Park is inspired by campfire style cooking. Wood-fired. Spit-roasted. Smokey-savoury & small-batch spirits distilled in-house. Their cocktails are unique, fun and made with their own vodka and gin.

Our Favourite cocktail: Sawback (it has a bit of spice with chili vodka!)

St. James Gate – $$

A quaint Irish pub that’s a five minute walk from us on Wolf Street. The authenticity of the imported Irish woodwork and fantastic artifacts make St. James’s Gate one of the premier Irish Pubs in the world. The Gate has a warm friendly atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. Rub shoulders with local residents and tourists from around the world.

Magpie and Stump – $$

Directly across the street from us on Caribou is Banff’s only Mexican restaurant. They have the most colorful rooftop patio where they serve guacamole, salsa and tacos (or and margaritas …. Can’t forget the margaritas)

Eddie Burger Bar – $$

Located directly across the street from the hotel on Caribou, Eddie Burger Bar is an awesome busy little burger joint that serves great beer too!

Masala – $$

About a block walking distance from the hotel down Bear Street, you’ll find Masala. Banff’s only Indian restaurant which offers a wide variety of cuisine created by two chefs who hail from northern and southern regions of their native country.

Maple Leaf – $$$$

This upscale restaurant kiddie corner to the hotel on Caribou Street. Gorgeous seafood and steaks are their speciality.

Banff’s Famous Fondue Restaurant is just around the corner from the hotel on Banff Ave. In operation since 1967, The Grizzly House is a landmark destination for thousands of visitors and locals in Banff National Park. Indulge in their unique atmosphere for what will prove to be a memorable dining experience!

The Bear Street Tavern – $$

The Bear Street Tavern have ridiculously good pizza and they serve it with their infamous chili oil and honey sauces which are deliciously yummy. They also have a good sized patio that is hidden in their courtyard gets great sun. They are about a two minute walk across the street from us on Bear Street – hence the name 😉

This steakhouse is a five minute walk from the hotel on Bear Street. It offers a quintessential comforting dining experience. Their menu has an array of selections each hand-crafted using fresh, quality ingredients.

The Balkan – $$$

Friendly, local service, showcasing the best in Greek and Banff hospitality. Go on Tuesday nights for Greek night featuring belly dancing and plate smashing.

Melissa’s Restaurant & Bar – $$

For over 30 years Melissa’s Missteak has been Banff’s Best Steakhouse and Family Restaurant. They are open for family breakfasts at seven am and serve dinner well into the evening. They have been voted “Favourite” Banff Restaurant for seven consecutive years by the Calgary Herald Readers’ Choice Awards.

La Terrazza – $$$

The Old Spaghetti Factory- $

Located about five minutes walking distance from the hotel in Cascade Plaza off Banff Ave, the Old Spaghetti Factory offers an all-inclusive menu that is proudly serving fresh daily from scratch sauces and dressings along with hot sourdough bread, minestrone soup or tossed salad, spumoni ice cream and freshly ground coffee or hot tea with all of their meals. Great value for a casual night out for two or bring the little ones.

The Elk & Oarsman is Banff’s premier sports pub & restaurant and it’s about a three minute walk from the hotel on Banff Ave. The timber & river rock décor and beautiful stone fireplace make The Elk & Oarsman a favourite for locals & tourists from around the world. In additional to serving great food and drink, The Elk also offers live entertainment.

The Rose & Crown- $$

Around the corner and across the street is the Rose and Crown. Not only do they serve great food, but they have a live band each weekend if you want to stay up and celebrate a little longer. Once you’re finished having fun, the hotel is just around the corner and a short two minute walk.

Chuck’s Steakhouse – $$$$

If you are looking for stunning mountain views and a perfect Alberta steak experience. Chuck’s is the place to be. Located on Banff Ave close to central park and about five minute walk from the hotel.
